& Whisky Tasting at Innes House

Innes
House is one of the finest Scottish renaissance buildings in
the Speyside area. Built in 1645 it is still the private home of the Tennant
family and scotchwhisky.com have chosen this venue because of it's
spectacular setting (it will be magnificently floodlit later in the evening)
and for the best of Scottish food in the Country House tradition - all
of which will combine with our range of Speyside malt whiskies to make
this event one of the highlights of the Autumn Speyside Festival.
Transport
from Dufftown & Elgin area Although only a few miles from
Elgin, if you are interested in mini-coach transfer to and from Innes House
for the event, we will be pleased to organise this if there is sufficient
demand. |
| MENU
The Dinner, with a strong emphasis on local produce, celebrates the best
of Scottish flavours in the Country House tradition:
Cullen
Skink (This is an exquisitely flavoured
creamy fish soup of locally-smoked Finnan haddock. A traditional
dish from the shores of the Moray Firth, Skink is the Gaelic for "essence".)
Pan-fried
supreme of Innes chicken filled with local haggis,
accompanied by a selection of seasonal vegetables.
Cranachan
(a sublime mixture of traditional Scottish produce: heather honey, whisky,
oatmeal, cream and raspberries. As well as being eaten on special
occasions, it used to be the traditional communal celebration of the end
of harvest, with the separate ingredients placed on the table for everyone
to make their own mix.)
