Bùrn Taobh
One of the five blended malts comprising Murray McDavid’s Vatting series.
Bodach Aislig is a blend of Glenrothes, Glengoyne, Bunnahabhain and Tamdhu malts, along with Port Dundas, Cameronbridge and North British grain whiskies, the youngest of which was distilled in 1980.
The component whiskies were each matured in ex-Bourbon casks before being vatted together and further matured in ex-Sherry butts at independent bottler Murray McDavid’s warehouses at the old Coleburn distillery.
The first – and only – run of Bodach Aislig is presented as a non-chill-filtered 35-year-old blend, bottled at 46% abv.
Murray McDavid, former owner of Bruichladdich distillery on Islay, launched a large range of new expressions in 2015.
Among them was Bodach Aislig, which forms part of the bottler’s Crafted Blend series.
