Based in the tax-free haven of Heligoland, Helgoheiner and the Heiner’s Duty Free Shop sells a wide range of spirits, including Cognac, brandy, vodka, aquavit and a selection of Scotch and world whisky. Among the products on offer are a number of single malt whiskies bottled under its own label.

In addition to selling wine and spirits, the shop offers other duty free staples such as tea, coffee, chocolate, perfume, and fragrances.

Helgoheiner History

Helgoheiner started life as an eBay retailer that expanded to a physical shop called Heiner’s Duty-Free Shop. Both operate from Heligoland, a German archipelago in the North Sea, some 40 miles north of Cuxhaven. Heligoland has tax-exempt status and, while still within the EU, is not a part of the EU customs union or subject to VAT.
