Gall & Gall Profile

In addition to the wide range of whiskies stocked, Dutch beverage retailer Gall & Gall is also responsible for the bottlings of the Commitment to Malt whisky club. Previous releases include vintage and cask strength bottlings, as well as whiskies from Auchentoshan, Ben Nevis, Bowmore, Bunnahabhain, Highland Park, and more.

Gall & Gall History

Gall & Gall was founded in 1884 by Maria Gall, who was looking for a way to support her family after her husband’s death. Maria opened ‘Firma Wed. HJT Gall’, a wine and liquor store in Ferdinand Bolstraat, Amsterdam. In the next few years, subsequent stores were opened. After Maria’s death in 1920, her sons took over the business and changed the name to Gall & Gall.

In 1989, Gall & Gall became part of the Ahold Group, which also included stores such as Alberto, Impodra, and Aguilar Klerk. These have now been rebranded Gall & Gall. The company has over 600 stores.
