Bught was one of many small distilling operations that closed within a year of obtaining a licence.
The distillery likely sat near Bught Road, on the River Ness’s west bank. It would have taken its water from the Ness beside Whin Island, just upriver from Inverness proper.
Bught distillery was opened by James Cumming in 1798, but was closed by the following year.
