Sherry seasoned: Tamdhu’s Batch Strength No. 004 is a vatting of whisky from ex-oloroso casks

Batch Strength No. 004 is a single malt matured in ex-oloroso Sherry casks made from American and European oak, before being bottled without chill filtration at 57.8% abv.

The whisky is said to contain ‘a nose of elegantly spiced oak, with warming vanilla and freshly-shelled nuts’ with a palate of ‘summer berries and cream’, followed by a ‘long’ finish of ‘sultanas, citrus zest and brown sugar’.

Tamdhu distillery manager Sandy McIntyre said: ‘This is a magnificent addition to our growing range of Speyside single malts for the Sherry wood connoisseur.’

Batch Strength No. 004 is available worldwide at specialist retailers for £74.99 per bottle.

The distillery recently launched Tamdhu 15 Year Old in March as its annual limited edition release.

Tamdhu exclusively matures all its whisky in Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain.

Available to buy from The Whisky Exchange. It may also be stocked by these other retailers.
