Ballintomb was a Morayshire distillery that lasted 42 years, a remarkable feat in the 19th century.
Auchmedden distillery (also spelled Auch Madden, Auch Medden and Auchmeddin), was based on a farm now called Mains of Auchmedden, west of Aberdour Bay, above the picturesque harbour village of Pennan. The ruined Auchmedden castle was also nearby.
Auchmedden distillery was operated by William Grant – one of countless William Grants in the history of distilling – from
1826-33.
