Ardmore
A peated Highland malt.
Garchory distillery was a little-known farm distillery in Strathdon, Aberdeenshire. The Garchory Farm and Cottage are still on maps today, as is the nearby Garchory Burn which feeds into the River Don, which flows eastwards to emerge into the North Sea on the north side of Aberdeen. Garchory sits beside the A944 road about four miles south-west of Bellabeg where the famous Lonach Games take place every August.
In 1827 George Simpson and Co. established Garchory distillery at Garchory farm. However the firm ceased trading in 1833 and the distillery promptly closed.
