Shawend Farm stands two miles east of Kilsyth and a mile north of Dullatur. Nearby water sources that may have fed the distillery there include the River Kelvin, several watercourses, a canal feeder stream and a loch. The farm is still on maps today, just beside the A803 road which threads its way from Glasgow to Falkirk.
Shawend distillery was licensed to John Stark in 1795 but he ceased distilling that same year.
