Glen Stuart Whisky Co. was a fictional company name created by Invergordon Distillers (now part of Whyte & Mackay) to supply mature whiskies to third party brands.
Headquartered at Invergordon’s head office at Leith, the company was the pseudonym used to produce brands such as Ben Roland blended whisky and Laird’s Reserve single malt for wholesaler and importer, Adel UK Ltd.
Glen Stuart also bottled New Century, a 25-year-old Speyside single malt thought to be Tamnavulin.
The name Glen Stuart Whisky Co. began to appear in the mid-1980s on the labels of Laird’s Reserve (a brand owned by Adel UK Ltd), and moved onto bottles of Ben Roland and New Century.
Today Ben Roland is owned by Russell Distillers, founder of Copper Rivet gin distillery in Kent.
