Colt
This blended Scotch whisky was produced exclusively for the Swiss market.
Glen’s Eagle was an unaged blend exported to Europe, primarily to Switzerland, where its owner was based, and Austria.
The label featured an arresting graphic of bird of prey (definitely not an eagle) grappling with a pheasant that is twice its size. Another example of the slapdash marketing or just Scots kitsch?
Glen’s Eagle was produced during the 1960s and ‘70s and has become extremely rare.
It was produced by Kintocher Whisky Co. which was owned by the Rum Company of Basel through its Glasgow-based subsidiary, Acredyke Whisky Ltd.
Acredyke was founded in 1960, but has been dormant since the 1980s.
