West Barns
A distillery at Dunbar, East Lothian, that distilled from 1798 until the mid-1830s.
Gleann Mόr is a small and relatively new Edinburgh-based independent bottler specialising in unusual single cask releases. Its expressions, which often include whisky vintages not found among some other independent bottlers, are released under the A Rare Find label, and are all bottled at cask strength. Many of these releases come from the acquisition of privately owned casks rather than via the usual route of cask brokers.
Gleann Mόr has also bottled a 30-year-old single cask Armagnac under its Rare Find label, and produces a brand of gin called Firkin, which is ‘rested’ in small Firkin-sized casks before release.
Derek Mair founded Gleann Mόr as an independent whisky bottler in 2013. The following year Mair launched the first iteration of Firkin Gin (it has since been released as a limited edition further matured for three weeks in ex-Lagavulin casks).
