Montrose Whisky Company Profile

While Montrose Whisky Company is currently a non-trading subsidiary of whisky blender Campbell Meyer & Co., in a former life it produced blends such as Old Montrose and Pipe Major.

Montrose Whisky Company History

The company was founded in 1973 as Montrose Scotch Whisky Company Ltd, by husband-and-wife team Gunter and Iwona Dolver. Based in London the company blended and bottled Old Montrose, mostly for export.

In 1988 its name was changed to Montrose Whisky Company Ltd.

In June 2006 the East Kilbride blender JG Distillers Ltd, part of Campbell Meyer & Co Ltd, acquired the company and its brands. Both the company and Old Montrose brand have not been active for some time, although Campbell Meyer still owns the trademark.
