While Kirsch Import has specialised in the German import of Scotch whiskies since 1976, it also bottles its own expressions under several guises, including the As We Get It and Simply Good Whisky labels. Stock is often sourced from UK indie bottler Signatory Vintage Malts.
Named after its proprietor, Dieter Kirsch, the family-run company is based in Syke-Schnepke, Germany and is the Germany importer for Signatory and Edradour distillery, as well as Gordon & MacPhail, Ben Nevis and several Irish and American bottlers/producers. Kirsch claims to offer one of the most diverse selections of single malt whiskies in Germany.
Kirsch Import was founded as a German importer in 1976 and over time the business has grown to focus primarily on whisky and especially independently bottled single malts by the likes of Signatory, Gordon & MacPhail and Cadenhead.
The company began regularly bottling its own whiskies in the mid-1990s, and partnered with Signatory to produce a commemorative bottling for its 20th anniversary in 1996.
The UK supermarket giant offers a range of Scotch whiskies under its own labels.
