Cambridge Wine Merchants History

Founded in 1993, Cambridge Wine Merchants is a partnership between two friends, Hal Wilson and Brett Turner, who still own the company today.

The duo started with a shop in Mill Road, Cambridge and today there are seven branches, four of which are in the city.

In 2013, the company opened its first in-store wine bar at its Bridge Street store. As of 2017, there are three wine bar stores, as well as a wine school.

Today, Cambridge Wine Merchants also conducts some wholesale business, mostly with colleges at Oxford and Cambridge, as well as some restaurants and pubs.
