Tormore
Speyside site born to make a statement.
Mortimers of Speyside is a sporting and country wear retailer based in Grantown-on-Spey, Scotland, which among its lines of fishing tackle and outdoor clothing, has been known to sell own label limited edition whisky.
In 2009, the store released Mortimer’s Black, a 12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky that had been aged in a heavily charred Sherry cask. In 2012, the company went on to release Mortimer’s Malt, a 15-year-old Scotch whisky aged in Sherry casks.
Mortimers of Speyside opened on Grantown-on-Spey’s High Street in the 1960s with a specialisation in fishing tackle and equipment. The store is located near the River Spey, a destination for many keen salmon and trout fishers, and caters for both sea and river fishing.
In addition to angling supplies, Mortimers also sells a range of country clothing and footwear for outdoor activities such as shooting, stalking, birdwatching, and hillwalking, as well as a selection of gifts, including books, porcelain from Pointers of London, and Scotch whisky.
Annandale produces two types of single malt whisky, neither of which will be ready until 2018.
