Seven Eleven
Scotch blend created for the Italian market by the Tanist Bonding Company of Glasgow.
This no-age-statement blend of ‘100% Scotch whiskies’ was produced mostly for the Italian market. Playing on its name, bottle labels for Big Boy sported the figure of a tall, extremely strong Highlander carrying a cask.
The Tanist Bonding Company was established in 1968 and operated from an office in Hope Street, Glasgow. During the 1970s and ‘80s it produced a series of blended Scotch brands for the Italian market, one of which was Big Boy.
Its founder, Osvaldo Franchi, who had sought to strengthen Italy-Scotland relations, passed away in 1990, and The Tanist Bonding Company was dissolved two years later.
