Scotch blend created for the Italian market by the Tanist Bonding Company of Glasgow.
Big Boy Profile
Blended Scotch Whisky
This no-age-statement blend of ‘100% Scotch whiskies’ was produced mostly for the Italian market. Playing on its name, bottle labels for Big Boy sported the figure of a tall, extremely strong Highlander carrying a cask.
Big Boy History
The Tanist Bonding Company was established in 1968 and operated from an office in Hope Street, Glasgow. During the 1970s and ‘80s it produced a series of blended Scotch brands for the Italian market, one of which was Big Boy.
Its founder, Osvaldo Franchi, who had sought to strengthen Italy-Scotland relations, passed away in 1990, and The Tanist Bonding Company was dissolved two years later.
Standard Scotch blend created by the Tanist Bonding Company exclusively for sale in Italy.
Long-lost distiller and blender that operated out of Greenock, London and Dublin.
An old blend from Edinburgh brewer and bottler Campbell, Hope & King.
