Lombard Gold Label
The flagship blend from Isle of Man blender and bottler, Lombard Brands.
A blend of Islay malts bottled at 40%, Tidal Webb was designed to represent the characteristics and style of Islay’s distilleries. It formed part of the no-age-statement Distillation Malts range, introduced by owner Lombard Brands in 2001.
The Isle of Man’s Lombard Brands is an independent blender and bottler, and bulk supplier of Scotch whisky. While it can trace its roots back some 300 years, the company was born in its current guise in the mid-1960s.
Tidal Ebb was introduced in 2001 alongside Driftwood, as part of Lombard’s Distillation Malts series. At the time the company had also introduced its Illustration Malts range, three whiskies designed as dining accompaniments.
Following consolidation of its available Scotch brands in 2013, Tidal Ebb was discontinued (along with two out of three of the Illustration Malts series). However Driftwood continues, and is still available from specialist retailers.
Blended Scotch initially created as an exclusive dram for Freemasons, though now widely available.
The last remaining whisky in Lombard Brands’ dinner-oriented Illustration Malts series.
