Islay Festival 2017: Lagavulin open day

As this year’s Islay Festival of Music and Malt got into full swing, we were at Lagavulin to chat to two Italian whisky fans and to hear about the distillery’s 2017 festival bottling.

Scotchwhisky.com editor Becky Paskin talks to Nadi Fiori, from Rimini-based High Spirits, and fellow whisky enthusiast Paolo Tagliabue, in the first of a series of video reports from this year’s week-long festival.

She also talks to Dr Nick Morgan, head of whisky outreach at Lagavulin owner Diageo, who tells us about the ‘experimental’ bottling for this year’s Fèis – a 16-year-old Lagavulin finished in ex-Moscatel wine casks.
