The blending firm of Forbes, Farquharson & Company was best known for its Reliance blend. Both the company and blend became part of Arthur Bell & Sons (and later Guinness).

Forbes Farquharson & Company History

Originally based in Leith, Forbes, Farquharson & Company was incorporated in 1930. By the 1940s the company’s Reliance blend was already exported around the world.

At some point prior to the 1970s, the company became a part of Arthur Bell & Sons, and its headquarters moved to Perth.

Forbes, Farquharson & Company was eventually liquidated in 1991.
