Johnnie Walker has launched the third limited edition whisky in its experimental Blenders’ Batch series – Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Bourbon Cask & Rye Finish.
The limited edition blended Scotch is available in a select number of markets, including travel retail channels, and is priced at around US$52.50/ £32 per 1L bottle.
Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Bourbon Cask & Rye Finish comprises single malt and grain whiskies matured in first-fill Bourbon casks and finished for up to six months in ex-rye casks. The whiskies were sourced from just five distilleries, including Dufftown and Port Dundas.
Curated by master blender Dr Jim Beveridge and his blending team, the new release follows the launch of the first Blenders’ Batch whisky last year, Johnnie Walker Red Rye Finish, and Johnnie Walker Triple Grain American Oak, launched exclusively in the US.
Each whisky is the result of hundreds of flavour trials, and the brand intends to release approximately three new experimental expressions each year as part of the Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch series.
