Bladnoch distillery has launched a new limited edition 10-year-old single malt, described as the ‘most accessible expression yet’.

‘Accessible’ malt: Bladnoch 10 Year Old is said to represent a ‘new path’ for the distillery

The whisky has been matured in ex-Bourbon casks for a minimum of 10 years, and bottled at 46.7% abv without chill filtration.

Described as having ‘grassy, floral aromas’ with ‘ginger, coconut, gooseberry and vanilla’ on the palate, Bladnoch 10 Year Old is described as an ‘everyday’ whisky.

‘The Bladnoch 10-year-old Bourbon cask finish represents an exciting new path for the brand,’ said David Prior, owner of Bladnoch distillery.

‘It is a great accompaniment to the rest of the Bladnoch range, adding a more accessibly priced premium Scotch, making it perfect for a day-to-day dram.’

The 10-year-old joins Bladnoch Samsara, Bladnoch Adela and Bladnoch Talia in the distillery’s core, but limited, range, and will be available globally for around £59.99.

Bladnoch distillery was purchased as a silent entity by Prior in 2015, and restarted production in June 2017.

In March this year, Bladnoch released a 29-year-old malt for its bicentennial, marking 200 years since the distillery was founded in Dumfries and Galloway.
